Al Jazeera Al Hamra is the last intact historical pearling village in the Gulf. Set just off the Ras Al Khaimah coastline, the site includes a complete traditional settlement: fort, mosque, souq, watchtowers, and a full range of courtyard houses. Homes vary from simple one-room units to larger family compounds.
Construction relied on what was available—coral stone, fossilized beach rock, mangrove beams, palm trunks and shells for drainage.
